Following the clues on maps & the stories written to find old places using a metal detector

On the old topographic maps for this part of NH I spotted what they had put down as a structure back in the 1950s.. So I had to go take my Fisher F19 metal detector and go do some exploring out there in the woods. The old maps can show lots of info like old roads, logging roads and sometimes even hunting cabins back in those days. Also on this trip being that I was walking around a farm that goes back into the 1800s and 1700s I had read a story about the sledding hill on the farm. Those two clues right there are enough to go spend the day metal detecting to see what we can find buried in the ground from long ago old history.
