Niskayuna girls soccer eliminates Guilderland, 2-1

Niskayuna, NY - The Niskayuna girls soccer team claimed a hard fought 2-1 victory over Guilderland in Tuesday's quarterfinal round of the Section II Class AA playoffs.
The game was tied 1-1 in the 2nd half when Alissa Franze's goal put the Silver Warriors on top to stay.
"Guilderland's always a great team and a great competitor," said a gracious Franze following the win. "They were our only tie for the whole season, so we knew that we had to bring it because we were both out to get the win."
No. 11 ranked in NYS, Niskayuna advances to the Sectional semifinals under the guidance of its veteran head coach.
"We pulled it out," said Bryce Colby of beating the Lady Dutch. "It wasn't as pretty as I would have liked to have been. But Guilderland played really well, and they did well with their game plan, I think, which kept us from scoring goals."
The two goals Niskayuna did manage to score proved to be just enough.
