This video presents another important philosophical foundation of education that is, realism.

The leading figure in realism is the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle. Unlike Plato who argues that idea is the real thing, Aristotle argues that it is what we can experience physically that can be called real.

Applied to education, realism teaches that we only teach to students what can be experienced physically. If an idea cannot be translated into words, action, or thing, then it is not meaningful; therefore, students can't learn anything from it.
