BB King's Memorial on Beale Street

Rain drops were like tears from heaven on the day Riley B. "B.B." King was honored on the street that gave him his name, but a little rain was not enough to keep family, friends and fans away.

Bobby Rush played "When The Saints Go Marching In" on stage in Handy Park before the funeral procession down Beale Street, and a host of others paid homage to B.B. as well.

Rodd Bland, son of Bobby "Blue" Bland and B.B. King's godson, carried B.B.'s beloved guitar, Lucille, in the procession, accompanied by a huge second line of musicians from Memphis and around the world.

The blue hearse carrying B.B. traveled south down Highway 61 to the Mississippi State line where the procession was met at the border by Mississippi governor Phil Bryant then escorted to B.B. to his final destination, Indianola, Mississippi.
