China slams U.S. 'Clean Network' efforts to ban Chinese apps

China has slammed U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's announcement of the "Clean Network" campaign. Beijing says it's a smear and a political manipulation. Pompeo said the U.S. will take action against what he called untrusted Chinese apps from the app stores of U.S. mobile carriers and phone makers, citing security risks.
