White Sand Beaches in Scotland? Flight to Barra Island

Scotland is amazing. There is just so much diversity to this country it's phenomenal. From a travel photography standpoint, it's amazing. One day you can be shooting cities like Glasgow, and then the next you can be up on some white sand beaches.
I took a flight to Barra Island from Glasgow this morning and it was unbelievable. I mean, absolutely a bucket list thing. The views to the island from Glasgow were just amazing too.
The flight to Barra Island actually lands right on the beach too, which is amazing. In fact, Barra Island airport is right on the beach too. To make things even more impressive, the place you land is actually a white sand beach.
I had no idea there were white sand beaches in Scotland. And, judging on the views from the flight there are actually a lot of white sand beaches in Scotland. The islands around here seem to be littered with them.
On Barra Island, I only had a couple minutes to explore. I was scheduled to be on the next flight back so I was given about 20 minutes to race across the island to see one of the beaches.
The white sand beach was just stunning. It almost didn't seem real. I wished I had more time to photograph it and explore, but I was meant to be back on a flight to Glasgow really quickly.
Of course, my flight from Barra Island to Glasgow ended up being delayed by about 3 hours. Of course, I was stuck at the airport that whole time and couldn't really explore.
So, I spent a lot of time at Barra Island Airport, which wasn't so bad as they had a great cafe.
By the time I got back to Glasgow, it was really late and I still had a long drive ahead of me to Glencoe.
Tomorrow on this Scotland trip, I'll be photographing sunrise at Glencoe: one of the most beautiful places in the country.
