Insulated Beehives + Summer Heat (Hive Sensors + Temperature Data)

I have had more commenters than I can count telling me that my insulated hives were going to bake my bees. Well, SPOILER ALERT: Those people were wrong.

After observing the bees and watching the internal hive temperatures for the past month, I can confidently say that these bees are being far more productive and seem far more comfortable than any bees I've seen before. My previous bees spent huge amounts of time and resources heating and cooling those old, thin pine boxes and that meant they were not spending time foraging and caring for brood. Despite some very hot days in the past week, I have yet to see ANY bearding on these hives, which tells me the bees are either out foraging or inside the boxes working. I will never keep bees in an un-insulated box again. This is the way!
