Subcontracting Trap: Never Sign Blind!

🛑 Never—
and I mean NEVER—

sign a subcontract that’s tied to a prime contract you haven’t seen.

If your subcontract has a flow-through provision (and most of them do),
you’re agreeing to be bound by the prime contract...

whether you’ve read it or not.

That means you’re taking on obligations you haven’t even seen:
🔹 Payment terms
🔹 Indemnity clauses
🔹 Change order procedures
🔹 Dispute resolution timelines
🔹 And all the hidden landmines in between

You can’t protect yourself from something you didn’t know was there.

You can’t comply with requirements you’ve never read.

And if you ask for the prime contract and they refuse to give it to you?
🚩 That’s not just a red flag; it’s a neon sign flashing "BEWARE."

Because if there’s nothing to hide, why wouldn’t they share it?
