Piano Meditation Practice

In a world of scrolling, speed, and constant stimulation, this is the opposite.

One note at a time.

Starting at the very bottom of the piano and slowly moving upward, listening to each note completely until the sound disappears. Not rushing to the next thing. Not filling space. Just hearing.

This is one of my favorite musical meditations because it reminds me that every note has a life, texture, weight, and decay of its own.

It slows the nervous system down.

It deepens your listening.

And strangely, it can completely change the way you improvise.
Most of us move past notes too quickly to actually hear them.
Try this with an acoustic piano sometime and give yourself permission to be fully inside the sound.
