Historic 101st Airborne Division Footage With Captions!
Real footage of the 101st Airborne Division which was taken just before and after landing on September 17th 1944 during Operation Market Garden. The best thing is, I've added notes to help identify what you are looking at!
You will see Gliders being loaded with 57mm Anti Tank guns for the 81st AA/AT battalion and the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment marching towards their planes. Then it switches to Dropzone C where the 506th PIR is landing and forming up., you can even see Colonel Robert F. Sink! The video ends with the 506th crossing the Wilhelmina Canal in Son using the foot bridge created by the 326th Airborne Engineers after the road bridge was demolished by the Germans.
