Recently I have really been getting into games made by the creative mind of David Cage. This man is responsible for hits like Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human. But his first big project was Fahrenheit which carried the alternative title of Indigo Prophecy in America. This was a very unique game at the time as it promised a cinematic experience where you could interact with the world around you like never before.
It presents a noir type of detective story with supernatural elements and you follow different characters throughout its tale. The first half of the game is really quite good and though it has some slow moments, the atmosphere is awesome and feels like a proper detective novel. It takes inspirations from movies like Seven, Silence of the Lambs and also The Matrix.
It is the second half when it goes off the rails completely and it is still entertaining for how crazy it gets, but it seems to lose focus. By the end it is a whole different type of game full of plotholes in the story, but it had me laughing multiple times on how ridiculous it was.
I definitely think later titles are much better like Detroit Become Human, but this ultimately is the craziest and most bonkers story that Cage has ever wrtiten for a videogame.
