Speaking Freely: Louis CK & Steve Marmel
Comedians Louis CK and Steve Marmel discuss how performing in comedy clubs are unpredictable, because speaking up about serious issues with a sense of humor “upsets millions of people”. Yet, in Marmel’s case, “these are the things that affect everybody, and these are the things that you really want to talk about,” he says of the topics he is usually drawn to, like politics and religion, in his performances. CK adds that “in TV, religion is the one thing you cannot mess with”.
