Rainbow Hills Country Club opened in 1997, designed by the legendary American architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. — the same visionary behind iconic courses like Chambers Bay and Poppy Hills. The club is set across a massive 820-acre property at an elevation of roughly 2,200 feet above sea level, nestled deep within the rolling hills of central Korea. The course features three distinct 9-hole loops — South, East, and West — each offering its own unique character and challenge. Fairways are carpeted with premium Kentucky bluegrass, while the rough is planted with fescue, ensuring pristine playing conditions year-round. The property was developed by the highly regarded Dongbu Corporation, and the clubhouse itself was designed by the renowned Denver-based architectural firm Marsh & Associates. RTJ Jr. was so inspired by this creation that he personally wrote a poem about the course — a rare tribute from one of golf's greatest designers. Rainbow Hills has even set its sights on becoming "the Augusta National of Korea," and with its Top 100 World Golf Course ranking, that ambition is far from idle talk.
