Leading Ladies of Rutherford County History-Myla Parsons

Leading Ladies of Rutherford County "Women Who Inspire Us," is a community partnership created to give voice to women from the past who have shaped our history and culture. Organized by the Rutherford Arts Alliance, the partnership seeks to encourage a local sense of place through recognition of a diverse, representational group of historic women.

On this episode, we find out more about Myla Parsons (1907-1994), the first librarian of Linebaugh Public Library. Parsons oversaw the opening and growth of the library from 1947-1962 and developed the path-breaking memorial book program to raise funds.
