My name is Casey Cloward i'm with Raykon Construction i'm the owner of the company the Bott residence has been a feature project of ours that we've been working on for almost two years now it's a contemporary style home up in the northeast bench of alpine you have the majestic views of the mountains and overseeing the lake this project is unique in the way that the design hasn't been our niche in the portfolio of our work and so a contemporary style home has offered us different challenges has given us the opportunity to our resources and get into some nicer features in the way that it fully fits in with this style and the feel of it.

The landscaping challenges that we had or i guess features that came about because of this location we had 82 feet of fall from one end of the lot to the other on two and a half acres and on a large footprint of a home there was a lot of challenges of how to get those flat points to make sense but yet capitalize on some of those accessories in the house from the amenity of the pool to the sport court pickleball court area we were able to layer those or tier those into an accessible and useful and frankly a favorable position to optimize that that space and it's kind of fun to have the water feature and the staircase coming up through yes it's a lot of stairs and yes we heard a lot of comments towards the stairs coming up however to capitalize on something different and to put the fountains and to put the different layers and the different tiers as you're coming up to this structure has turned into a feature not as much as an eyesore or a something that detracts from the beauty of the home it's a it's an asset and something that helps tie everything together one of the initial design aspects that we focused on was the staircase the staircase had many challenges as to where how the engineering was going to come into play and how we were going to have the proper spacing to allow for this elegant light fixture to span 25 feet through the middle of this staircase for the three floors and it was something that was talked on early on and so to see it come together and actually look the way it ended up is a treat for me to to have but also to present that to the homeowner who had a vision from the beginning another unique design for this home is the master bathroom area we've had multiple comments and compliments towards the layout and the design and the ceiling height and the the wood backdrop along with a concrete tub stacked on a granite platform those types of details are a big feature and to have those types of features into such a confined space yet feel so elegant and so luxurious into such a nice home you have to if you will hit it out of the park for some of that type of effort that goes into putting it together and it's fun to have the collaboration together as a team to tie it all together and and i think that uh that's that's a true treat for them to be able to wake up to on a daily basis and enjoy as they live their their lives here my name is kyle nelson i'm the managing partner of decorative landscaping based out of american fork here in utah we're a professional custom design build landscaping firm and we specialize in high-end commercial and residential projects raycon did a great job they have a project manager for all of their homes as do we and so right out of the gate raycon construction decorative landscaping we met on site both project managers met we all exchanged numbers you know the communication from start to finish is is critical to collaborating and pulling off a project like this raycon i think one of the best in the state at really having that attention to detail and focus on ensuring that their subcontractors are able to come in and perform when they're supposed to be there scheduling is a very difficult thing for landscapers we're usually the last guy in and we kind of have to deal with whatever's been left for us but we didn't feel that way at all on this project we felt like we were very involved from the very start allowing us to help make suggestions on where things would benefit the homeowner benefit us as landscape contractors make things more efficient for the overall project which in turn saves the client money at the end when when all of us can be efficient and effective in our own trade there's savings for the homeowner there i'm tammy bird i'm with rt custom cabinetry located in sandy utah i've been there for going on 30 years.
