HIV-positive Neo Thamae advises Lesotho youth to use lenacapavir to prevent HIV infections

Neo Thamae, a 26-year-old from Lesotho living with HIV, is encouraging young people to protect themselves by using the HIV prevention injection — lenacapavir.

Thamae was infected at birth and initially believed the treatment he was taking was for tuberculosis, only later learning that it was for HIV. Despite facing stigma from relatives during his early years, he has since embraced living openly with HIV.

In an interview with Uncensored News Senior Health Journalist Limpho Sello, Thamae urges young people in Lesotho to take lenacapavir injection and prevent HIV infection. Lesotho has been able to provide the injection free of charge through a five-year M6.2 billion health agreement between the governments of the United States and Lesotho.
