Gazans remain in limbo as the Trump administration’s proposed peace plan appears on the verge of collapse. Israel violated the terms of the ceasefire more than 80 times in the first week alone, while Phase 2 of the agreement remains nowhere in sight. Meanwhile, the Israeli Knesset has voted to begin the process of annexing the occupied West Bank — though Trump and several US officials insist that won’t happen. Many now question whether Israel will honour the terms it signed up to.

Over on the Ukraine front, Trump continues to shift his stance. He refused to supply President Zelenskyy with long-range Tomahawk missiles shortly after a phone call with Putin. The two leaders were expected to meet in Budapest soon, but those plans have also been shelved. While Trump avoids directly antagonising Putin, his administration hasn’t hesitated to sanction major Russian oil companies.
