REOPENING THE BERBICE ESTATES INSIDER

Work is progressing to reopen the sugar estates which were closed in the Berbice Sugar Belt. Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha has been making regular checks to ensure that the government’s plans materialise. The government is seeking Indian help to reopen the estates and the Minister recently took the Indian High Commissioner Dr. K. J. Srinivasa on a tour of the estates to see exactly what is possible and what is needed.
