Serbia: Putin arrives in Belgrade on official visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade on Thursday as he begins an official visit to the Serbian capital. The Russian leader’s plane was escorted to Serbia by MiG-29 jets.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic greeted the Russian leader at the airport. The two leaders will hold bilateral talks later in the Serbian president's official residence.

During his visit, Putin will take part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade, and also visit Serbian Orthodox Cathedral Saint Sava.
