Sailing Scotland - Sailing from Ardrishaig to Tarbert - Day 5 Part II

Follow us on this sailing adventure, as we sail the west coast of Scotland on a 32ft Elizabethan Ketch - our first CrewBay crewing opportunity! Here, we leave the Crinan Canal behind us and sail to Tarbert...

After getting our RYA sailing tickets (check out our Sailing Croatia 2017 playlist if you haven't seen it yet!) we were in search for a sailing charter to get some more miles under our belts. Our idea was to sail the west coast of Scotland and explore some of the islands. Sailing charters in Scotland turned out to be super expensive, so we had a look on Crewbay and came across James and his 32ft Elizabethan ketch, the Ghost Wind.
So, in August 2017, we left behind the ridiculous heat of Abu Dhabi, and got on a plane to Scotland to join James and spend one week sailing his yacht. If you've missed the other videos of this trip, do go check out our Sailing Scotland playlist!

On Day 5, we continued down the Crinan Canal, through the last locks, back to the open ocean. This is the second video of Day 5, in which we leave the last sea lock of the Crinan Canal and head out into Loch Fyne, to sail down to Tarbert. The weather was mixed, as you'd expect during a Scottish summer, but that just adds to the fun of sailing! We finally got the Ghost Wind sailing! Lots of cups of tea and digestive biscuits were had - rain or shine - and eventually, Ini managed to bring us into Tarbert in one piece. The fishing village was gorgeous and we spent a wonderful afternoon chatting to the locals in the pub. No idea what they were saying have of the time though ... gotta love the Scottish accent ;)
