Australian people are ‘allergic’ to identity politics: Greg Sheridan on Voice defeat

The Australian Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says the Australian people are “allergic” to identity politics.

He said the Voice to Parliament referendum failure has been a defeat for race politics within Australia.

“Canberra voted exactly opposite to the way the rest of Australia voted,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“I think it was a magnificent exercise in democracy.

“Australian voters should be applauded.”
