Xapin and Axul

A 19 minute Mayan version of Romeo and Juliet from the highlands of Guatemala. This film stars the students of Yinhatil Nab'en (Seeds of Knowledge) High School, in San Mateo Ixtatan. This film is in the Mayan language of Chuj with English subtitles: there are 22 different Mayan languages in Guatemala alone.
