Segunda parte de mi crónica sobre el protocolo que se enseñaba en las escuelas de danza. Los retos de danzar, cuando se ponía en duda la calidad de la danza de algún noble o maestro, se tomaban muy en serio y convocaban a varios maestros para que los juzgaran. La prueba para el cortesano perfecto exigía ser diestro en el arte de la conversación, amable, limpio e ingenioso. Las normas sobre la conversación cortesana se multiplican y extienden a todos los ámbitos imaginables de la oratoria y el lenguaje corporal, y los juegos de burlas entre damas y caballeros son una prueba de la cortesanía y obediencia de esos admiradores. La danza cautiva y favorece el ascenso social y los tratados que educan en todas estas habilidades multiplican sus ediciones por toda Europa y algunos se reeditan durante varios siglos.

Second part of my chronicle. The dance challenges, when the quality of a master or nobleman dancing were questioned, were taken very seriously. Some judges were asked to judge them. The perfect courtier had to be skilled in the art of conversation, gentle, clean and witty. Norms on courtly conversation multiply and extend covering oratory and body language, and games of digs between ladies and gentlemen are a proof of obedience and courtesy from the latter. Dance is charming and promotes the social climbing and the treatises educating in the subject multiply their editions all along Europe, being, some of them, reprinted along several centuries.
