H.E. Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, addressed the media earlier today to respond to a question that may be on the minds of many Bahamians: What is the purpose of China's presence and investments in The Bahamas?In a candid response, she said, “We just want to make another friend and another trading partner for cooperation.”Ambassador Yan also noted that China is currently the leading trade partner for The Bahamas, as many of the products consumed locally are manufactured in China.
