Our Small Maple Syrup Production

We made 4 liters (1 gallon) of maple syrup with 196 liters (49 gallons) of sap from our maple trees. We have 2 Norway maples and 1 Mountain maple. The ratio is 47 to 1. It can go from 40 to 60 depending on the type of maple. The sugar maple is the best with 40 liters of sap for 1 liter of syrup.

We tapped our trees from March 12th to April 14th 2026. The temperature has to go below freezing at night and above freezing during the day for the sap to flow. We started tapping our trees in 2023 and we are very pleased with this 4th year that was a record amount for us. We feel very blessed to be able to make our own syrup.
