Have you ever been to Gomel, Belarus? | Budget Travel

After a very long train ride from Minsk to Gomel, Belarus we're finally here!
This small town in eastern Europe has a population of only 508,000 residents.

We were lucky enough to have a very friendly Airbnb host, Zina, that helped us with our Belarus migration cards (needed for travelling in Belarus for over 5 days or for each different town/region you visit) and showed us around the town. Zina didn't speak any English which made some things difficult but we managed to have a full conversation with her through Google Translate.

There wasn't a ton of activities to do in Gomel but visiting Gomel Park, The Museum of military glory (tongue twister) and the observation tower definitely made this town worth visiting!

If you want a bite to eat then you can't go past Backi, buffet-style food that's friendly on the wallet.
