Lensbaby Part 1 - What is a Lensbaby?

I use a Lensbaby for some of my commercial work because i love the way I can channel a viewer's attention to a specific area of an image by using one. But what is a Lensbaby?

A Lensbaby is a small manual lens which not only focuses front to back - it also has a sweet spot of focus which you can move around the image horizontally and vertically. You can even expand and contract the size of the sweet spot to get the look you want.

In this vid I'm going to introduce you to the concept - and in part 2 we'll get out and begin shooting some images with one.

The Lensbaby I use is the 'Composer' which has a simple locking ring so you can set up a shot and lock the sweet spot in place. At the time of writing this Lensbaby have just updated their range with a pro version of the composer and a non bending lens for fish-eye photography. There's also one called a Muse which doesn't lock in place.
