Craziest Free Run My Mare Has Ever Had

So long story short, Ariel had a total of 6 days off. She got her shots last week as well as pulling her front shoes off so she could be barefoot again. With the barn being closed on Sunday due to Easter and closed on Monday, she ended up having 6 days off with absolutely no work.

I lunged her briefly at the trot to make sure she wasn't sore on her front hooves. She was barefoot this time last year, but had front shoes put on for showing late summer last year. So she adjusted to being barefoot rather quickly, even though I'm sure she is not 100% adjusted, but she isn't sore anymore.

Also, if anyone has watched my barefoot video from a year or so ago, you can see how bad her hooves reacted to going barefoot after having been in shoes for at least 10 years consistently (mostly before I bought her). Her hind hooves have been barefoot for over a year and look so so much better and have no problems being barefoot. With me just taking her shoes off (I prefer barefoot for many reasons) I want to protect her front hooves so they do not react badly, as horses carry around 70% of their weight on their front feet, making those a bit more important. I have hoof boots on her in this video to protect them. I'm glad I put them on, since she played so rough I'm sure she would have tore up her front feet, as they have not hardened yet or grown strong barefoot.

Information on my mare:
