The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of Argentina's most popular tourist attractions. Although the entrance in the national park was quite expensive, at around 30 Euros for the two of us, it was worth it. There are a lot of wooden passage ways and viewing platforms along the lake coast opposite to the face of the glacier. The parking lot was very crowded. However, given the enormous size of the main attraction, we did not feel we were bumping into other people.

The glacier is 30 km long, 5 km wide and 60 meters tall. The reason why it is one of the most popular glaciers in the world is the rapid pace at which it advances - around 2 meters per day. That gives you a chance to see building-sized chunks of ice fall into the lake. We got our fair share of ice breaking off, but trying to catch it on camera was like trying to photograph a lightning bolt.
