8 Premier League Players Who Have Been Victims of Robbery

Because of their high net worth, professional footballers are some of the biggest targets of robbery and burglary in Europe and all around the world.

In this video, we bring you 8 Premier League football stars who have once been victims of robbery. Some of these players were left with physical injuries, but most of them still have psychological scars.

1. Joao Cancelo

The Manchester City full back is the latest Premier League player who is a victim of robbery. The Portuguese, along with the City squad, traveled back to Manchester on Wednesday night after their game against Brentford in London. And on Thursday, Cancelo was attacked by 4 people in his home.

In a picture he posted on Instagram, Cancelo revealed the cut just above his eye that the bandit inflicted on him. Under the photo, he said:

“Unfortunately, today I was assaulted by four cowards who hurt me and tried to hurt my family. When you show resistance this is what happens”

He went on to assure the public that his family, who are the most important thing to him, are okay. However, the thieves carted away all his jewelry and other valuables. The case is currently under investigation.

2. Reece James

While Reece James was representing Chelsea in the Champions League against Zenit St Petersburg in September, thieves decided to take advantage of that to break into his home.

Thankfully, nobody was in. But they carted away valuables including medals he had won with Chelsea and England

According to James, the robbers lifted a heavy safe from his home which contained his UEFA Champions League and Super Cup winners medals, as well as his Euro 2020 runner-up medal.

He posted a CCTV recording of the culprits and has since called on the public to help him catch the perpetrators and bring them to book.

But most importantly, neither James himself nor any of his family or friends was physically present during the robbery. So, nobody was hurt.
