2 सितंबर 1998 को Swiss Airline की फ्लाइट 111 ने 8:18 PM पर न्यूयॉर्क सिटी से जीनेवा जाने के लिए उड़ान भरी। उड़ान के करीब 52 मिनट बाद यानी 9:10 पर प्लेन 33000 फीट के Altitude पर पहुंच चुकी थी, लेकिन तभी को Cockpit में कोई अजीब सी गंध फैलने लगी। करीब 3 मिनट बाद pilot ने नोटिस किया कि एयर कंडीशनिंग fan से स्मोक बाहर आ रहा है। इसलिये पायलेट ने फैसला लिया कि प्लेन को नजदीकी एयरपोर्ट पर लैंड करवा कर उसकी जांच कराई जाएगी कि आखिर खराबी कहां है। लेकिन यहां समस्या इससे अलग थी। दरअसल cockpit के ऊपर वाले हिस्से में जहां पूरे इलेक्ट्रिकल सिस्टम की वायरिंग होती है उसमें किसी कारणवश एक वायर मे short सर्किट हो गया था। जिसके कारण उस वायर का सिक्योरिटी रबर melt होने लगा था, और उसके बाद धीरे-धीरे उस हिस्से में आग फैलने लगी। लेकिन pilot अभी तक इस बात से अनजान थे‌।
आखिर उस प्लेन के साथ फिर क्या हुआ होगा ?? जानने के लिए वीडियो को अंत तक जरूर देखिए।
On September 2, 1998, Flight 111 of Swiss Airline flew from New York City to Geneva at 8:18 PM. About 52 minutes after the flight, at 9:10, the plane had reached altitude of 33000 feet, but only then a strange smell began to spread in the Cockpit. About 3 minutes later the pilot notices that smoke is coming out of the air conditioning fan. That is why Pilot decided that by landing the plane at the nearest airport, it would be investigated where the fault was. But the problem here was different. Actually, in the top part of the cockpit where the entire electrical system is wiring, due to some reason a wire was short-circuited. Due to which the security rubber of that wire started to melt, and then slowly the fire started spreading in that part. But the pilots were still unaware of this.
