Quartermaster General WW2 Review - Ultra Digestible Axis and Allies

Shelfside reviews Quartermaster General WW2, a fast paced, card driven tabletop board game that incorporates the world war two war game theme, but packages it into a much shorter game that can play under 2 hours! Published by Griggling Games, it's unlike Axis and Allies, which can easily overstay the game night with tons of dice rolling. The rules and gameplay of Quartermaster General are exclusively card based, simplifying what would otherwise involve tons of miniatures, pieces, and components scattered all over the table. The box just opens up to the board, rulebook, cards, and wooden pieces without complexity.

The major power factions you can expect are all here on a map that isn't too heavy, but still encompasses the world historically accurately as expected. Combat is less about troops constantly fighting but more about cutting off supply lines. Capturing important areas yields points every round, and taking two capitals wins the game! The mechanisms and clean design of this board game don't muddle the strategy either, making this tabletop experience great for a non-lengthy world war ii playthrough.
