Louise Brealey reads Beatrix Potter's charming letter with the FIRST EVER mention of Peter Rabbit

In 1893, 26-year-old Beatrix Potter wrote to Noel, the five-year-old son of her friend, Annie Moore, and began the tale of four rabbits which in fact featured the first ever appearance of Peter Rabbit, the character for which Potter would one day become famous. The resulting story, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, has since become one of the most popular children's books of all time.

Louise Brealey joined us at Letters Live at London's Freemasons' Hall back in 2014 to read this totally charming lettter.
