APMAs 2015: Sum 41and DMC interviewed in the Gibson backstage lounge
WWE wrestler Corey Graves chats with Sum 41 in the Gibson Backstage Lounge after their performance with DMC at the 2015 APMAs.
The band discusses their comeback after two-and-a-half years and their progress on the group's upcoming and highly-anticipated album. Then, two special guests—DMC and Dave "Brownsound" Baksh—join in the conversation to talk about their collaboration onstage.
"It was an honor and pleasure to do 'King Of Rock' with Sum 41. About 15 years ago, I saw them in a video—my son was watching them. I was like, "Man, if I was ever in a band, that's the band I'd want to be in!" So, then about three or four weeks ago, I get a call from the band that I wanted to be in, and they say "Hey, we're doing this AP thing, do you wanna come do a record with us?"
DMC then reveals further collaboration with Sum 41.
"Sum 41 is going to produce a record for DMC on his new album. If you thought me doing 'King Of Rock' with them was incredible, wait until they give me an original Sum 41 [track], produced, arranged and composed by them," said DMC, "It's over for anything that is weak in music because I've got new friends!"
