In the past 10 years or so, there have been many developments in Coventry city centre and the changes are set to continue in the coming months and years. Old town planning mistakes are set to be rectified and, as the university expands, student accommodation blocks are appearing everywhere. This is what Coventry city centre looks like on New Year’s Day, 2021.

This walk whizzes around the city centre with pauses along the way to show points of interest. The route taken is as follows:
Coventry train station, which is currently undergoing major renovation.

00:29 Pause at the Bull Yard, showing the Methodist Central Hall and Christchurch Spire.
00:59 The Wave - a new water park and leisure complex
01:00 New Union Street

01:07 St John’s Street, past the 01:11 Severn Trent (water company) building and the courthouse.
01:14 Much Park Street
01:18 Jordan Well
01:21 Cox Street, under and past the Sports Centre
01:28 Fairfax Street
01:33 Pause at Priory Street with views of the new Cathedral, Britannia Hotel and Pool Meadow Bus Station and continue along Fairfax Street
02:11 Pause in front of Coventry Transport Museum and the statue of Sir Frank Whittle; continue along Corporation Street
02:55 Pause at the corner of Bishop Street
03:25 Pause at Belgrade Square by the Belgrade Theatre
04:04 Pause opposite the St John the Baptist church and continue on Queen Victoria Road
04:40 Pause at the recently-closed Ikea and continue on Greyfriars Road
05:15 Back on Warwick Row, finishing by the statue of Sir Thomas White
