Restricted Performance Warning Range Rover Evoque 2012

How to fix one of the common causes of the restricted performance warning light on the Evoque.

The fault is a spilt in the intercooler to throttle hose. Another sign that this is the fault is that the acceleration of the car has been getting slower over time, revs high but car doesn't move quickly at say traffic lights or roundabouts and doesn't go through the automatic gears quickly.
