Edible Flavor Pods

Here is what you'll need!

EDIBLE FLAVOR PODS
Inspired by Chef Ferran Adria

INGREDIENTS
Edible Film
2 tablespoon, ½ teaspoon potato starch
2 teaspoon soy lecithin
½ teaspoon vegetable glycerin
2¾ cups water

Filling:
Instant sauce packs
Desired spices
Any oils

*Do not add water. Water will make the wrappers dissolve!

Other materials:
Iron
Parchment paper
towel

PREPARATION
In a medium pot combine all ingredients for the edible film.
Using a stick blender (or a regular blender) blend the ingredients until everything is fully incorporated.
Place pot on high heat and stir until it comes to a boil. The liquid will quickly turn into a gooey opaque texture.
Pour it onto a nonstick baking sheet or a nonstick pan. Let it dry out in room temperature.
Carefully peel off the sheet and cut it into small square pieces.
Lay down a towel and a piece of parchment paper.
On top of the parchment paper place a sheet of the edible film. Fold it in half, but do NOT crease.
Fold over the parchment paper and iron the ends. This will melt and stick the edges. Make sure there are no air bubbles in the sides that are melted together.
You now have a triangular pod. Fill the pods with your desired spices. DO NOT FILL IT WITH WATER OR IT WILL MELT.
Pack multiple flavors for your next backpacking trip or camping trip! Just add it into your hot bowl of rice, pasta, or anything that needs some extra flavor to keep you happy on the trail!
