Afternoon weather forecast, Wed., March 18

SLC tied the daily record high Wednesday at 79 degrees, and St. George recorded their earliest 90 degree day on record. The record breaking temperatures will continue through the next 7 days.

Highs in Salt Lake City will be in the low 80s through Saturday, and wherever temps peak (above 80 degrees) will mark the warmest temperature ever recorded in SLC in the month of March.

A cool front will pass through the state on Sunday and will drop temperatures 10 to 15 degrees across the state and around 5 degrees in southwestern Utah.

Still, highs are expected near 70 degrees in SLC on Sunday and well above normal. Temperatures are looking increasingly likely to warm back up quickly next week. We could see consecutive days with record-tying and breaking temperatures again with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
