Tutorial - How to put together one of our Deep Box Display Frames.

This tutorial shows how our box frames are assembled - you will of course be assembling your frame with your contents included (i.e. whatever it is that you are displaying in your frame!). Below are the written instructions that include adding items into the frame for display purposes:

FRAME ASSEMBLY

a. Firstly, do a ‘dummy’ run of how the entire frame fits together and where you want your item/items to be placed on the backing card. Once you have done this, start by fixing your item/items to the backing card – depending on what you are displaying, you can use super glue or some other fixing method that is best for your item/items. If you do use a glue, please leave your item/items for an hour or so to make sure that they have completely stuck to the backing card.

b. Then place the glass in the frame and clean the glass.

c. If the frame type you have has an area on the mount card for a photograph and details, now is the time to put your photo and details in place. We recommend a strong paper type of tape such as masking tape. (Sellotape is likely to peel off over the years).

d. Place the front mount card on top of the glass – remember that the back of the mount card will be facing you.

e. Place the wood boxing in position and use the angle brackets to screw the boxing into the frame. (The boxing will also hold the glass and front mount card in place).

f. Place the backing card (with your item/items attached) in position - on top of the wood boxing.

g. Place the backboard in position - on top of the backing card.

h. Use the D-rings and screws provided to screw the D-rings through the backboard, backing card and box – this will keep everything in place.
(- if you wish, you can glue the backing card (with the item/items on) to the boxing, and then glue the backboard to the backing card).

i. And now you can enjoy your box display frame and contents!
