Storytime: SHE DID A CHARGEBACK & THEN LISTED MY LOUIS VUITTON ON HER EBAY ACCOUNT!

Storytime about (thankfully!) just one bad experience I've had in selling designer goods to scammer buyers. This happened in 2015 and relates to me selling a bag and then getting a chargeback weeks later. A chargeback is when a buyer calls their credit card to claim that a purchase is fraud, and wasn't made by them. This is something you could possibly get away with if the item was shipped to an address that isn't approved on your PayPal account.
This bright spark had had it shipped to her billing address though, so it didn't really wash - doh!
Here are some tips that I have since learnt:
- Only ship to their verified PayPal address, this enables you buyer protection
- ALWAYS use a tracking number
- Photograph what you have put in the package
- If you're including the original receipt, ALWAYS keep a photographed copy for yourself
- Photograph the date code number on any designer goods you are selling. If you get a fake sent back to you, it'll be harder for a potential scammer to find an ideantical bag and add a matching date code (it's not impossible of course)
