FARO S70/S150/S350 how to do an On-Site Compensation

Hopefully a useful video on how to SUCCESSFULLY do an On-Site Compensation with a FARO S70/S150 or S350 scanner.

Without the need for a LADDER or a TAPE MEASURE or an INCLINOMETER.

My setup I recommend is as follows:

1. Scanner at around 3ft height (I measured 2'10" to where the axis of the mirror sits)
2. Set up 5ft from wall
3. First target scotch taped at that same height (so around 3ft). I measured to the perceived center of the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.
4. Going up, next target at 4'6" (around +19 degrees read on my inclinometer)
5. Above that next one at 6'6" (+35 degrees)
6. Going down from 0 the first target at 9" above ground (angle -22 degrees)
7. Last target flat on ground about 1'3" from wall (-40 degrees)

Compensation worked without any issues. And heights of targets are practical (meaning most people can attach the TOP target without a ladder or a step).

Distance between each target is pretty much the height of the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. So if you use the paper as a guide, tape one target on the wall, then use the next target as a spacer to find where the next target is to be taped. Easy... No inclinometer is required at all...
