DHARMAVARAM SISTERS singing " PACHAI MA MALAI POL MENI "

Dharmavaram sisters ( Mahathi & Pranati ) have presented five Tamil verses from 'Thirumalai', a chapter from the famous 'Nalayira Prabhandham'.

'Nalayira Prabhandham' is a collection of 4,000 Tamil verses (Naalayiram in Tamil means 'four thousand') composed by the 12 Azhwars, and was compiled in its present form by 'Sri Nathamuni' during the 9th – 10th centuries.

'Thirumalai' has totally 45 verses in it and was authored by the great saint, spiritual leader and poet 'Sri Thondaradippodi Azhwar'. He is one of the twelve Azhwars dedicated supremely to the 'Vaishnavaite' tradition. He is also famous with the name 'Vipra Narayanar'.

Out of the 45 verses of 'Thirumalai', Mahathi and Pranati have chosen five verses (2nd, 9th, 23rd, 29th, and 43rd verses) from 'Thirumalai' for rendering them in their concert at Sri Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy temple of Nellore on 01 May 2017.
