A checkered keelback is also called as dhoriya in hindi and verula in marathi it is found in the water areas and feeds on the frogs. its one of the most aggressive snakes of India
Ratsnake is also called Ghodapachhad sap in hindi and dhaman sap in Marathi
Its a nonvenomous and a harmless snake. the different color patterns on the body distinguished sometimes creates confusion that the snakes are two but its one. also lots of rumours spread about this snake that this snake sucks the milk by binding the legs of cows. but its not true coz the snake cannot perform sucking action. Also another blind belief is that it is having venomous thorn in the tail by which it attacks. due to lack of knowledge lot many blind beliefs spread about snakes and we need to know snakes to save ourselves as well as these poor reptiles.
