How to Auto Lock Computer After Inactivity in Windows 11
How to Auto Lock Computer After Inactivity in Windows 11 🎯
💡 To automatically lock your Windows 11 computer after a period of inactivity, the most direct method involves configuring your screen saver settings. Search for "Screen Saver" in the Windows search bar and select "Change screen saver." In the Screen Saver Settings window, choose any screen saver from the dropdown menu – even "Blank" is sufficient if you don't want a visual effect. Crucially, set the "Wait" time to your desired period of inactivity (e.g., 5, 10, or 15 minutes). Immediately below this, ensure the checkbox labeled "On resume, display logon screen" is checked. This ensures that when the screen saver activates after the set inactivity, your computer will require your password or PIN to unlock. While not a direct lock setting, you can also adjust your "Power & sleep" settings (found in System settings) to turn off the display after a shorter period, which can precede the screen saver activation, further enhancing security and power saving. Apply your changes to activate the auto-lock feature.
