In the first episode of my blind Let's Play Gameplay Playthrough of Song of Horror, it's a horror game with permadeath and procedural scares, what could possibly go wrong?

Song of Horror is a survival horror game by the Spanish studio Protocol Games. They sought funding on Kickstarter in 2015 but failed; undeterred, they spent the next four years working on the game until the first two episodes were released on for PC through Steam on October 31st, 2019. Episode 3 followed on Friday the 13th December, 2019. Episode 4 was released on January 30th, 2020, and the last episode was released on May 28th, 2020, while the "Complete Edition" will be hitting PS4 and Xbox One on October 29, 2020.

The story begins with the vanishing of acclaimed writer, Sebastian P. Husher, along with his family. Worried, his editor sends an assistant to investigate, only for said assistant to also vanish. What follows is a chain of events that lead to the discovery of a horrible, incomprehensible being simply known as "The Presence" that seems to be behind it all.

The key hook is that The Presence is also an A.I. that creates dynamic events as your progress throughout the episodes, changing your playthrough depending on how well or poorly you are doing, along with a variety of other factors. Along with this, the game features permadeath where, if one of your characters die, you can continue with another playable character. Currently, the game features eleven different characters playable throughout four episodes, with more coming on the way.
