Improve Clay Soil

I've amended my clay soil heavily with wood chips, and here I'll show you the results. I also will discuss some of the other ways to improve heavy soils - organic matter, wood ash, and Bocking 14 comfrey. One thing I can't recommend (unless you do a soil test first) is the addition of gypsum to loosen soil. Here's a link to a .pdf to address the myth that gypsum is a blanket fix for clay soils: https://s3.wp.wsu.edu/uploads/sites/403/2015/03/gypsum.pdf

If you're wondering about improving clay with sand, here are my thoughts: https://youtu.be/1oz7fV0qi0s

It can be done, I suppose, but the amount of material and work required to incorporate is a bit much. Better to go with organic amendments, IMO, and let the worms do the heavy lifting.
