¿Por qué haces lo que haces?
Tendemos a pensar que tomamos decisiones deliberadas y calculadas, especialmente en asuntos de importancia personal, como dónde elegimos vivir, qué profesión elegimos y cómo gastamos o invertimos nuestro dinero; Pero la realidad es diferente. Por ejemplo, resulta que las personas tienen preferencia por vivir en una ciudad o un estado cuyo nombre se parece al de ellos. Los datos sugieren que es más probable que alguien llamado Dennis elija vivir en Denver que una persona similar con un nombre no relacionado. Lo mismo es cierto para Mildreds en Milwaukee, Jacks en Jacksonville, Philips en Filadelfia, Florences en Florida, Georges en Georgia y Louises en Louisiana. Resulta que hay un tipo similar de preferencia por lo que las personas hacen para ganarse la vida, por lo que alguien con el nombre Dennis tiene más probabilidades de convertirse en dentista que una persona similar con un nombre no relacionado.
