George Michael's boyfriend Fadi Fawaz raced to attend the funeral of the late pop star yesterday after finding out about it at the last minute.
The 43-year-old was then refused entry to the wake as emotions continue to run high between the hairdresser and the family of Michael.
Meanwhile, the singer's former lover Kenny Goss was seemingly welcomed with open arms, attending both the funeral and the wake.
Fawaz had been pictured going for a walk at about midday near Michael's home in Regent's Park. He was asked by a photographer if he was going to the funeral, causing him to rush back to his house and change into a black suit.
He later attended Highgate Cemetery in North London as the final guest to arrive, where he paid his respects before making his way home, as other guests attended the wake, The Sun reported.
It came after the family of George Michael thanked fans for their messages of love and support after laying him to rest during a private ceremony.
Andrew Ridgeley, Helen 'Pepsi' DeMacque-Crockett and Shirlie Kemp were among the mourners who attended a small service and the wake.
A statement shared after the service by the former Wham! star's publicist read: 'We can confirm that the funeral of the singer George Michael took place today.
He said: 'I heard Andrew Ridgely had come up from Devon last night and spent the night in London.
'I have known George since I was 19, he would be horrified by this. The family have had the body for three weeks and there is no excuse for it to be that long.
'I feel cheated. Where is the respect? He had a lot of friends outside of his family, All I wanted to say was goodbye.'
Goss previously paid tribute to the singer and said he would be at Michael's funeral.
He added: 'I think his body just gave up. All these years, it was just weak. We were together for 15 years and in the gay world that is a long time.
'When we split there was no big argument. It was a lovely relationship. I miss him.'
Highgate Cemetery opened in the 19th century and already hosts the graves of a number of famous names - including Karl Marx, George Eliot and painter Henry Moore.
