4th Grade: Measurement and Time Pg 2 of 2
This video provides explanation on how to complete the worksheet 2 of 2 "Measurement and Time" found within the 4th Grade "Math bOX" binder.
You may want to pull out 2 other sheets from this binder:
(1) Unit Conversion Template and
(2) Measurement Conversion and Decimals INFO SHEET (CHEAT SHEET) that has a chart to show the conversions.
You will also need the ruler and clock.
4th Grade Math Standards: Measurement Conversion & Time
In 4th grade, students deepen their understanding of measurement by working with conversion within a single system and solving problems involving time.
**Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system (for example, km, m, cm; lbs, oz; hr, min, sec).
**Express larger units in terms of smaller units (for example, 1 ft = 12 in; 1 hr = 60 min).
KEY SKILLS
Length: Convert between inches, feet, yards, miles (customary) and mm, cm, m, km (metric).
Weight: Convert between ounces, pounds, tons (customary) and grams, kilograms (metric).
Capacity: Convert between cups, pints, quarts, gallons (customary) and milliliters, liters (metric).
Time: Convert between hours, minutes, seconds; solve elapsed time problems (for example, “If a movie starts at 2:15 PM and ends at 3:45 PM, how long is it?”)
