WWII Indian "swiss army" soup spoon found in Egypt - Battlefield gadgets - 1940

This aluminum soup spoon that surfaced in Egypt, is one of the strangest World War II relics I have ever come across. It is dated 1940, and is marked with the British crown, as well as with the broad arrow of the Indian army. The spoon can be folded in two to save space, and when unfolded, can be firmly locked into place with a catch. This highly ergonomic and intuitive utensil, that was also used as a hammer at some point in its history, puts any Swiss army knife to shame, and is a reminder of the high sacrifices made by the Indian army during the desert campaign against Rommel’s Afrika Korps.
